History
The history of measuring tool fabrication began in 1862 as Franz Anton Hock brought up his company.
After F.A. Hock died, two former coworkers founded the "Sautter and Meßner" company in 1878. With this foundation a rapid expansion of this meaningful industry started.
Several companies were founded by coworkers of "Sautter und Meßner" in the years before and after the end of "Sautter und Meßner" in 1926.
With around sixty companies, the meaurement tool fabrication in the region round Aschaffenburg reached its maximum importance around the year 1960. Despite many changes, some of the companies are still working in the traditional measuring tool business.
Over the years the range of products has been extended. Thus, there is a wide spectrum of measuring products available these days. Today, around Aschaffenburg more than 30 companies still produce measuring tools, fixtures and precision parts.
